Hi Roman, could you please tell us about yourself, your experience, and your professional background?

Certainly! I’m an engineering leader with nearly a decade of experience across web, mobile, and IoT domains. My engineering background enables me to connect seamlessly with management and engineering teams, fostering a unified vision and language. I’m passionate about using automation and SRE practices to eliminate unnecessary tasks, enhancing both efficiency and creativity in the team. 

In recent years, my focus has shifted to specializing in cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity. This journey has not only been about technical advancement, but also about building resilient, agile teams capable of navigating the ever-evolving landscape of cybersecurity. My primary objective has been to guide teams in speeding up release cycles, boosting system reliability, strengthening security, and minimizing risks. 

Could you give a brief overview of TechMagic`s security testing services? 

TechMagic’s security testing services are comprehensive, encompassing various aspects of cybersecurity. We specialize in identifying vulnerabilities across web, mobile, and cloud platforms. Our approach combines automated tools with expert manual testing to ensure a thorough examination of our clients’ systems.  

This includes penetration testing, security consulting, and security audits, all tailored to address each client’s unique challenges. We emphasize not only discovering vulnerabilities, but also providing actionable insights for mitigation and prevention.  

In other words, we don’t just identify problems — we offer strategic, long-term solutions. 

What are you and your team particularly focused on at the moment — what issues do customers come to you with?

Currently, our primary focus is on application security and data protection. Also, many of our customers seek assistance securing their cloud infrastructure against emerging threats and ensuring compliance with evolving data privacy regulations.  

We frequently address concerns about unauthorized access, data breaches, and securing APIs. We aim to empower our clients with robust security processes that enable them to confidently scale their operations in a secure environment. 

What value do you bring to your clients? 

We go beyond problem-solving and foster a security-first mindset. Our approach is to help customers identify and understand the impact of vulnerabilities, and establish a culture of security awareness. This means integrating strong security practices right from the early developmental stages, thereby reducing future vulnerabilities and related costs. 

Can you tell us more about TechMagic`s security training services for other companies? 

Our security training services are tailored to empower organizations with the knowledge and skills to maintain robust security practices. We offer customized training programs covering topics like common security vulnerabilities, secure coding practices, threat modeling, and incident response. These programs are designed for technical and non-technical staff, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of security across the organization.  

And I think it is worth uncovering our further plans on that matter: we initiated an exciting venture last year — creating our cybersecurity training platform. Recognizing the dynamic nature of cyber threats, our goal is to empower businesses with practical, role-based training.  

Traditional platforms often provide theoretical knowledge, which may not suffice in today’s rapidly evolving threat landscape. This gap in practical application can leave businesses vulnerable. 

Our platform is designed by security practitioners, focusing on practical skills and hands-on training. We ensure that each team member, regardless of their role, receives training that’s not just informative but immediately applicable. This approach is crucial for businesses to maintain a robust digital defense.  

By offering current, role-specific training, we’re equipping organizations with the tools they need to stay ahead of cyber threats and safeguard their operations. We aim optimistically to launch beta in the first half of a year, stay tuned! 

Everyone talks about AI and how it has changed the IT industry. How do you think is AI going to replace cybersecurity engineers? 

AI is certainly transforming the cybersecurity landscape, but I believe it’s more about augmentation rather than replacement. AI can handle large-scale data analysis, detect patterns, and automate certain security tasks. However, cybersecurity engineers’ expertise, contextual understanding, and strategic decision-making remain irreplaceable. AI and human expertise should work in tandem to create a more robust and responsive security posture.

How do you see the future of cybersecurity? 

The future of cybersecurity is increasingly intertwined with advancements in technology such as AI and the growing importance of data privacy. I foresee a greater emphasis on proactive security measures, real-time threat intelligence, and integrating security into all aspects of business operations. The evolving landscape will require adaptable, innovative solutions to safeguard against sophisticated threats. 

What’s next – what’s on your technical roadmap, what are your plans?

Looking ahead, we are excited to enhance our capabilities in AI-driven security solutions further. One of our key initiatives is integrating AI-assisted functionality into our cybersecurity training platform. This cutting-edge approach will revolutionize how teams receive and engage with security training, making it more interactive, personalized, and effective.
