Interview with Christian Reinhardt, Cybersecurity Awareness Specialist for SoSafe SE

Dear Dr. Christian Reinhardt, how would you describe SoSafe in 3 quick-witted words?

Innovative, ambitious, courageous.

Please introduce yourself briefly and tell us something about your background.

As an expert in adult education, I had the opportunity to teach at Martin Luther University in Halle and contribute to the Qualification Commission of the German Football Association (DFB). These experiences allowed me to gain valuable insights into designing impactful learning experiences and enabling lasting behavioral change.

Throughout my career, I have collaborated with numerous international companies, developing innovative learning solutions to tackle complex challenges. At SoSafe, I focus on modern and creative learning methods tailored to the ever-evolving landscape of cybercrime. My goal is to foster greater awareness of security and responsibility through effective learning formats.

I firmly believe that learning is most effective when it is practical, inspiring, and human-centered. With this approach, I strive to drive both individual and organizational growth.

What distinguishes SoSafe?

SoSafe focuses on people as a central component of a company’s security strategy. Through personalized, gamified and story-based learning content, the security awareness of employees in the company and beyond is strengthened. Our platform enables companies to implement proactive human risk management that recognizes and reduces security risks in real time.

How does SoSafe help companies?

SoSafe helps companies build a strong security culture by raising awareness of cyber threats through interactive training and phishing simulations. Employees are empowered to navigate the digital world securely. The platform also provides valuable insights into an organization’s security status, enabling targeted actions to enhance protection. Additionally, AI-powered tools like our chatbot Sofie offer real-time support to employees.

What do you see differently from prevailing opinions in the field of cyber security?

If we continue to believe that cybersecurity is solely the responsibility of a dedicated department within a company, we are bound to fail—no matter how skilled the experts or how advanced the technology. Instead, we must recognize that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility. Every job within a company comes with a duty to uphold security. This doesn’t mean employees need to become IT experts, but they should understand the importance of the topic and know how to navigate the digital world safely.

What’s next – what’s on your technical roadmap, what are your plans for 2025 and beyond?

At SoSafe, our H1 2025 roadmap focuses on empowering organizations to build a proactive security culture. We are enhancing self-service capabilities for greater autonomy, expanding multi-channel defense with AI-driven phishing simulations, and strengthening enterprise readiness with seamless login experiences and new security signals. Additionally, deeper ecosystem integrations with platforms like Slack and SAP SF will provide actionable insights for better risk management. Our goal is to deliver scalable, intelligent solutions that help organizations stay ahead of evolving cyber threats.

If you could send an email to all CISOs to address a security issue, what would you choose?

Cybersecurity needs people. Cybersecurity is a service. When employees understand this, we have a real chance at building a strong security culture. This mindset can be encouraged by providing employees with practical and relevant tips. For example, 100% of parents would appreciate a one-pager on “10 Tips for Keeping Your Child Safe Online.” Another useful topic could be “Alexa & Co. – Simple Steps to Secure Your Smart Devices.”

By offering such guidance, the CISO positions themselves as an expert and source of inspiration, increasing openness and engagement with IT security topics. At the same time, the company benefits from employees who also improve their personal cybersecurity.
